LOCAL POULTRY BREEDERS
AWARDS AT KOTORUA WINjTKR
SHOW
Wlrakatane poultry breeders gained man}' successes at the Rotorun Winter Show, which opened on Wednesday. Many awards in different classes went to Mrs W. S.> Woods and Mr W. K. Hanham also exhibited to effect. Among the honours gained by the latter was tlie North Island Championship for the Standard Black Orpington. Others were Special Prizes lor Utility Black Orpington; Black Orpington (Hen) and 2nd. in Black Orpington (Pullet). In the Utility Section Mr Hanham secured a first with a Black Orpington Hen.
Mrs Woods' successes were in many different classes and included Special Prizes for the Best Drake iri the Show; Old English Game Bird (Pullet); firsts for Cockerel and Pullet in the White Wyandottes and firsts for Cockerel and Pullsfc in Rhode Island Reds.
In the Utility Section .this breeder gained firsts for Cock and Pullefc in Rhode Island Reds. Other awards were firsts with Cock and Hen in the Old English Game Bantams; 2nd with Cockerel in Bantam (any variety) ; firsts with Khaki Campbell Drake and Duck in Utility Ducks^
