FAREWELL SOCIAL

j Mr and Mrs Strat Newton, who have been settlers in the Wainm valley for the past thirty years were farewelled by a gathering of residents in the Waingarara School house on Saturday last, prior to their leaving for Tauranga. The gathering was a representative one and Mr C. Robinson on behalf of the community presented the guests of the evening with a( tea-service and a smoker's companion, conveying to them in a neat speech the good wishes of their Wainui friends.
