NEW MINISTER
REV. J. PATTISON WELCOMED After the evening service at the Knox Presbyterian Church last night a welcome was tendered to the Rev. J. Pattison, : minister vice the Rev. K. J. Watson, who is now a padre with the' forces. Members of the congregation had supper with the new minister. In extending a welcome to the Whakatane charge, Mr R. Hill, on behalf of the congregation,, said he was sure Mr Pattison would not be disappointed in the town, or the people. The congregation was happy at the choice of the Rev Pattison to succeed the Rev. Watson and the minister could rely on loyal support and co-operation. In inlying, the , Rev. Pattison said he A\as looking forward to his stay in Whakatane and he could not want better evidence of the congregation's interest than the welcome extended to him. He thanked the assembly for the gesture.
