THE RUGBY SEASON

MEETINGS THIS WEEK SENIOR AND JUNIOR CLUBS Followers of Rugby football Avillv read with pleasure, the announcement in last Friday's issue calling the annual meeting of the W hakatane Rugby Union, and indicating the decision of the officials to continue with 'he game and promote a Avinter's programme of the good old manly sport as usual. The meeting takes place on Wednesday evening in the County Cham hers and in view of the difficulties confronting the code at the present time it is imperative that plaj ers and followers should afford it the most support aiid cncouiag'iment. The best method of doing this is by attending the meeting and giA'ing those who intend 'carry-ing-on' the incentive to do so. The Whakatane and Old Boys' Clubs have also convened meetings in the near future and in spite of the number of players who have enlisted it is underwood that there is every reason to expect a fairly successful season.
