LEES* CUP MATCH (Beacon Correspondent). The Taneatua Tennis Club challenged Waimana Club for the Lees' Cup, and the match was played last weelc-end, the holders retaining the trophy by 11 matches to 8. The weather being perfect for tennis and some high standard of play was witnessed by the onlookers. The detailed results are as follows, the Waimana names being mentioned first: — Ladies' Singles: Mrs King lost to Mrs Symmans 0-6, 3-6; Mrs Edgeeumbe lost to Miss Old 0-6, 1-6; Mrs J. Ruff lost to Miss Peebles 2-6, 6-0. 5-6; Miss J. Grover lost to Miss Carter 6-4, 2-6, 2-6. Men's Singles: A. Wardlaw lost to R. Lees 3-6, 3-6; A. K. Bell beat M. Lees 3-6, 6-3, 6-2; J. D. Wardlaw beat Larmer 6-2, 0-(>„ 6-1; Ned Menges heati A. Thompson 6-3, 6-2; E. Wilson beat R. Ross 6-4, 6-3; T. W. Wardhuv beat K. Sisain 6-3, 6-2.. Ladies' Doubles: Mrs King and Mrs Ruff beat Mrs Symmans and Miss Carter 6-2, 6-4; Mrs Edgecombe and Miss Grover lost to Misses Old and Peebles 3-6, 5-6. Men's Doubles: A. Wardlaw and Bell lost to R. and M. Lees 3-6, 6-3. 1-6; Wilson and J. Wardlaw beat Larmer and Sisam 6-1, 6-3: Ned Menges and T. Wardlaw beat Thomp son and Ross 6-2, 6-2. Combined Doubles: A.
