CENTENNIAL DANCE
LARGE CROWD GATHERS ITEMS BY CHOIR The Winter Show Hall was comfortably filled on Saturday evening when the day's proceedings were suitably wound up with a dance and the presentation of several choral items by members of the local Centennial Choir, who arc shortly to participate in the Dominion competitions. Modern and old-time dances were the order of the evening, Ted Hayden's Embassy Band providing bright and popular music. At an appropriate interval Mr W. M. Clark, Chairman of the Maori. Centennial Committee, thanked all present for their attendance and introduced the choir under the baton of Mr Mayo. The three items were warmly appreciated and the. applause indicated that the choir enjoys the best wishes of town and district in their forthcoming trials.
