Gault J. A. Mitchell, J. W. Sumner, J. D. Dicker (engineer-manager) ancl G. A. Hathaway (secretary). The minutes of the previous meeting w r ere confirmed and outward correspondence approved. Inward correspondence dealt mainly with the payment of accounts. Hedges on Roadside. Mr Gault referred to the cuttnig of hedges and asked what was the position from the board's point of view. In reply Mr Dicker said that the county councils could make owners cut the hedges back to the property line along the roads. It was costing the board hundreds of pounds annually to keep the power lines free of hedges and trees. Members considered that it was unreasonable the power board should have to keep the lines free of hedges which were allowed to grow to unreasonable heights. On the motion of Mr the secretary was instructed to Avrite to the Opotiki and Whakatane County Councils, asking them to take steps to see that the hedges along the road sides were kept cut to reasonable limits. Tn reply to a question, Mr Dicker stated that the line over the Waioeka River was now in a safer condition. The river was now commencing to cut in on the opposite side, away from the tower. The indications were that the tower would be safe for many years.,
