TWO CHARGES
MOTOR CYCLIST FINED SPEEDING IN COMMERCE ST. Hubert Cuy duller was eharged in tlie Magistrate's Court on Wednesday wi.L'h having no warrant of fitness for his motor cycle :ind exceeding the 3(1 miles per hour speed limit in Commerce Street. Traffic Inspector J. 11. Delves said that at p.m. on October IMth, which was a late shopping night, he followed defendant along Commerce Street. Approaching the Taneat.ua turnoff defendant's speed was 17 miles per hour. When the Inspector questioned defendant he admitted that he was speeding and explained that his battery was llat and he was speeding up the machine to give sufficient light for the headlamp. On the first count defendant was fined 10s and 10s costs, and on the second was fined £3 and 10s costs.
