TALK ON CHOPIN

PLAYS PRESENTED

A most enjoyable evening Avas held Monday evening last at the Lyceum Club. Two one-act plays Avere presented. The first Avals "The Bishop's Candlesticks by Norman McKinnel. The cast Avas: Bishop, Miss M-; Whiteside; Convict, Miss M. Dell; Persomme, Mrs Boswell; Marie, ,Miss P. Ngaitai; Sergeant, Miss F. Sloane The second Avas "The Dumb and the Blind" by Harold Chopin. Those in this Avere-: Joe Henderson, Mrs Littlejohn: Liz, Mrs P. Sisam; Emmy Mrs Fletcher-Cole; Bill Pepper, Miss Harding. Two Avaltzes by Chopin Avere played Miss J. SulliA-an Avith an explanatory talk by Mrs Appleby deal ing Avith Chopin and his of Poland and his life Avhi,le in Paris. Mrs Warner also pleasingly sang two songs and this soloist Avas accompanied by Mrs E. Armstrong. Others present Avere: Mesdames D. Pearse, J. Conoily, J. Morice, C. Southcy, L. Luxton, Eggers, H. Arm strong, Hooper. C. Thomas. Misses Carlvon, B. Allan. Supper Avas served after the programme Avas finished.
