WATER RETICULATION

EFFORTS OF PRESIDENT

An interesting and pleasant function took place on the Whakatane Golf Club's links on Sunday last when the water reticulation system was officially turned on by the President, Mr L. W, Luxton. Mr Luxton, in hiis remarks drew attention to the excellent water supply of 2000 gallons an hour that had been located by Mr Brebner and the splcn did service rendered by the Bay of Plenty Power Board, who were entrusted with the whole of the installation . Mr S. Spence paid a tribute to the work of the president in conncction with the installation and mentioned that Mr Luxton had given many days of labour in connection with the sinking of the well and general supervision of the work. The Hon. Secretary, Mr A. W. Clark, proposed the health of the president which was toasted with musical honours. Apologies were received from Mr F. Reynolds, vice-president, Mr J. Bullard, captain, and Mr B. Barry, committee.
