THEFT OF BENZINE

During the early hours of Mon"day morning, a Morris 8 motor car, the property of Mr J. Keller, was ■stolen from his shed at Paerata Ridge, Opotiki. It was later recovered at Tolaga Bay.

An attempt had been made at the same time to remove Mr C. Shove's car but the ignition key had not been left in. The car had been searched and two keys tried. About three gallons of benzine were removed from the car by means of a piece of milk pipe and a bucket taken from the shed.

Another theft of benzine was discovered, a worker's car which had been parked nearby having it's tank emptied. Case at Gisborne. A Morris S car belonging to the Rev. K. Liggett, of Gisborne, was stolen on Tuesday and was found abandoned later.
