BREACHES OF ORDER

MAORI FINED Appearing before Mr W. H. Freeman, 5.M... in the Police Court on Wednesday, Peter Wano, represented by Mr Smith, pleaded guilty to a charge im*olA'ing breaches of his prohibition order. He Avas fined £5 on the charge of entering a hotel Avhilst prohibited, £1 and £1 Is costs on a second count, and ordered to pay £1 Is costs in respect to a third.

Mr Smith stated that Wano, al j though prohibited for the last ten years,, had had only four convictions recorded against him.

The Magistrate pointed out that Wano had had only four convictions during" the ten-year term of his prohibition order, as his counsel had said, but the unfortunate part for Wano was that the four convictions had all been entered since January of this year.
