"ISMS"

SOME DEFINITIONS EXHAUSTIVE INVESTIGATIONS We have been making investigations to clarify the emanings of all —isms. We have been in communication with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Fairy, the Chamber of Commece, Librarians and Waterside Workers, for a definition of all— isms. The conclusions we have drawn from these various sourccs, are as follows: — Socialism: You have two cows— give one to your neighbour. Communism: You have two cows- \ —you give one to the Government/ .fl| they give you the milk. Fascism: You keep the two cows —give the milk to the Government, They sell it back to you. Nazi-ism: You have two cows— the Government shoot yon, and take both cows. New Idealism: The Government " shoot one cow. milk the other, and pour the milk down the drain. ' - Capitalism: You sell one cow and . buy a bull. Savage-ism: The cows take the blooming lot. Note.—lt is quite possible that the above was inspired by the recently published "Poilu's Litany.'*." In both eases the conclusion is the same, viz: Why worry?
