NEW DISTRICT HALL
BUILDING AT EDGECUMBE
OPENING ON THURSDAY
An important addition to the major buildings at Edgecumbe is the newly completed hall,, which Avill be opened on Thursday evening with a special dance and card evening. Built by Mr E..!. Bell, a well known contractor, the hall is a spacious structure with two roomy shops facing the roadway. The vestibule is wide and the flooi space capable of catering for two hundred couples. In this respect it will obviously meet all district requirements for many years to come. Lined with puketea, the interior gives a pleasing appearance, while the large stage at the Western end is intended for orchestral use in the main but nevertheless will be admirably suited for concerts or other local occasions. The new hail is yet another indication of the progress of that thriving district, and the confidence its residents have in its future.
