CITY OF FLINT
PRIZE CREW INTERNED
NORWEGIAN AUTHORITIES
ACTION
The action of the 'Norwegian authorities in interning the German prize erew of the City oi Flint, and releasing the American crew, after their long enforced confinement, has released a storm of anger in Germany. A leading German newspaper states that Germany is not able te conceive such a high-handed action by so small a nation as Norway. Such an attitude on the part of a neutral state is incomprehensible, and Norway's action is credited directly to the influence of the United States. As President Roosevelt's edict prevents American ships from entering the war zone, there is no alternative for the City of Flint other than to return home without discharging her cargo.
