WHAKATANE MEN'S CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual meeting of the Whakatane Golf Club was'held at the Borough Council Chaiyibers on Saturday last. Mr L. Luxton,' president, was in the chair, and there was an attendance of 05. The president in
his annual report drew attention to the ever increasing growth of the club both in regard to membership and the development of the course, which is now recognised as one of tlie best in the Dominion. The installation of the water reticulation at a cost of approximately £1000 was going to ensure perfect playing conditions at all times. He mentioned that a number of our members had enlisted and left for camp and the club had decidcd that all such members would retain their full membership without subscription until their return to civilian life.
Tlie president paid a tribute to the excellent work of the officers and committee for their services. The lion, treasurer (Mr C. A. Suckling) submitted the statement of accounts and balance sheet, which showed a healthy and satisfactory position.

The closing day for the season was held on Saturday last before a record attendance of members and visitors. The weather conditions were perfect and a most enjoyable day was spent. Mrs Luxton, wife of the president, presented the prizes. Opportunity Avas taken to make a presentation fp Mr A Landers, greenkeeper, on his leaving the services of the club.
