FINAL MEETING FOR YEAR
TRIBUTES TO OFFICIALS | The final jneeting of the Rangitaiki Rugby Sub-Union for the 1939 season was heid at Matata on Saturday. with Mr F. J. Burt as chairman, and Messrs H. Anderson, 15. McGee, !>. Thomas, T. Whitely. A. C. Robins, A. Cummings and R. Housham also present. At the end of tlu> meeting Mr Burt sniti that he would thank the officials for the help he had received in the present season as in Dast years. Fie was convinced that the Rangitaiki successes were largely due to the organisation which had run so efficiently and smoothly. He thanked the secretary, Mr Cummings, for his work. They were lucky to have a man of his (Hialities at their disposal . Mr Cummings thanked Mr Burt. He had never worked with a :iner set of men. Although they had differences they neier let them interfere with the business before them. Mr Robins hoped that they would not let football wane on account of the war, as happened in the last war when the standard deteriorated badly.
