BRIEFS
French officers visiting the British sector of the Maginot Line have no hesitation in declaring that it has now been made impregnable. The troops since their occupation haye been busily constructing communication lines, reserve trenches, and gun emplacements most of which are underground. The bodies of two German sailors (one of them an officer) have been washed up on the French coast south of Calais. They are from the German submarine which for some inexplicable reason went aground on the Goodwin sands. The Finnish delegation carrying that country's reply to the Russian demands left Hclsingfors last evening for Moscow.- President Roosevelt is said to have sent a message conveying his sympathy and asking to be notified of the talks. It is reported from Rome that the non-aggression pact between Italy and Greece will be signed shortly. The latest British loss from the submarine campaign was the vessel Clan Mona (4700 tons). The State Council of Jahore, India, has passed a resolution expressing loyalty to the Crown.
