OLD FRIEND HONOURED PARTY FOR MRS PEEBLES A most enjoyable time Avas spent recently at the residence of Mrs M, Mitchell the afternoon taking the form of a birthday party giA'Cn to Mrs Peebles by the old identities of the A-allcv and very intimate friends. The dining room AA*as decorated with wallflowers and iccland poppies and afternoon, tea Avas served on the verandah and lawn. A cake made and iccd by Mi's Mitchell was cut by the guest. She- Avas also presented AA'ith a beautiful posy made by Miss Percy Games Aver e played on the laAvn and after tea was served Mr.s E. Hill, in the absence of Mr J. Moody, asked Mrs Peebles on behalf of those present to accept a beautiful rest chair and cushion as a token of the esteem in AA'hich she AA*as held by ail. Mrs Hill hoped that she might live long to enjoy its comfort. Mrs Mur-j ray, who acted as hostess, thanked Mrs Mitchell fbr the use of her residence . Among!:', those present were Mesdamo Peebles Murray G. Wilson, Ruddick Richardson, McGougan, Tebbutt, Yeomau, Hill, Wardlaw Sn.
