VALUES LAST WEEK The .Farmers' Go-operative Auctioneering Co. Ltd. report:— Sheep: At Frankton sale last week an exceptionally heavy entry of fat sheep came forward with values for all classes of wethers showing a slight decline. In most cases prime fat ewes maintained late values, bul unfinished lots wer e easier of sale. Best fat hoggets suitable for local trade sold readily f but forward conditioned and store hoggets declined a little on late quotations. Cattle:: The beef enftry included a good proportion of prime ox iand cow ? with values for ox beef slightly easier, cow and heifer beef remaining steady. Top price of the sale was £17 5s realised for a prime heavy bulloclt sold on account of Mr H. Finlayoon of Tuhikaramea t while £16 5s T f»S reached for a pen of the same cattle sold by Mr 11. Vickers, Ngahinapouri. Boner cattle w r ere again penlied in good numbers with late quo* tations fully maintained. Pigs: A larger yarding of fat pigs, prices remaining buoyant at late rates. Good quality buttermilk pigs were in keen demand, and realisations highly satisfactory to vendors. Baccners remained firm at last week's rates. Quality porkers were penned in small numbers and prices accordingly showed a slight whilst unfinished porkei's and large stoi'es sold freely at advanced rates. A medium yarding of stores and wean* ers met a keen demand at prices fully up to recent quotations. Sow? with litters realised satisfactory rates. We quote:— Sheep: Prime fat hoggets 32s to 35s 6d; medium. 27s 6d to 30s 6d; light 25s to 26s Gd; maiden fat ewes 25s fid to 28s 9d; heavy fat ewes 24?; lo 28s; ltillable ewes 17s to 225; canncr ewes 9s to 12s; killable hoggets 28s t-.o ?,ss: f?t hoggets 21s to 23s 6d; forward and killable 14s 6d to 18s 0d; *lorc hoggets 12s to 13s 6d; cull hoggets 8s to 10s.
