WAIMANA PRICES
Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Opotiki, report having held a clearing sale on account of Mr T. J. Wardlaw of Waimana on Tuesday, the 12th September. The cjairy herd submitted showed but lacked condition. There was an average .attendance of buyers from the Whakatane and Opotiki districts. Competition was exceedingly keen for all classes of dairy cows. A large proportion of the herd were already at profit. The top price realised was Sl2 10s, and the whoH'e herd averaged £10. Realisations: Pest cows } close to profit £11 to £12 10s; backward and lighter condition cows £8 to £10; best cows in milk £9 10s to £11; inferior sorts £7 10s to £8 10s;_ small store pigs £1 lis to £1 13s; slips £1 10s to £1 12s 6d; weaners £1; sows £3 10s; ewe hoggets £l 10s; wether hoggets £1 Is; full mouthed ewes with a small percentage of lambs 18s 6d.
