BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS AT
TE TEKO The Te Teko Women's Division celebrated their fifth birthday in the Te Teko Hall last Wednesday. There was a good attendance of members and surrounding divisions and institutes were represented. Mrs Jamie. son presided and welcomed all. The afternoon opened with community singing. A programme was put on by the younger members com mencing with a play entitled ''Impossible.'' Humorous recitations were given, by Miss Joy Pepperell and songs by Mrs Bridgers. A sketch "I got an 'Ole in Me 'Bucket'* was well acted by Miss Campbell and Sister Mary. The young members then sang and acted "Riding down from Bangore"' which caused much amusement and was enjoyed by all present. A bed packet, donated by Mrs Senior, was won by Mrs Patterson. In competitions Mrs Turnbull 1, Mrs N. Mac Donald 2 and in another Mrs Hodson 1, Miss Dahl 2. The president and secretary were | each presented with a bouquet by Miss S. Tibbett. A dainty afternoon tea was served and the beautifully decorated birth, day cake with its five candles which was donated by Mrs Watson took pride of place. The provincial: executive president, Mrs E. Haul tain, cut the cakei, and Mrs Gray, secretary, lit atid .extinguished -the- cantttesT The sieging of the National Anthem brought the enjoyable a r t? • noon to a close.
