Toko. Farmers' Club.

The monthly meeting of oonunittee wbb held on Thursday evening. Present—Messrs R. Clark (president), U. Uowie, J. 's. Inglis, J. W. Petrie, A. H. Peatfie, J. M'Leod, T. Quill, T. H. Russell, T, H. Hitchou, J. B. Paul, Jas. Grey, J. B. Norrie, W. Moore, P. Porter, R. H. Michelle, and A. M'Keohnie.

The secretary was authorised to pay all accounts in connection with the summer show, also the prize money. On motion of Messrs Norrie. and Hitohon, the secretary was instructed to engage team with harrows to level up the show ground, which had oeeu greatly out up on show day, owing to the sodden state of the ground. The secretary intimated that the term of the Club's £SO iixed deposit in tne Bank of New Zealand •■ had recently expired, and it would be necessary to renew same, or transfor to geneial account.—As there were insufficient funds available to pay ouc prize money und accounts of the show, until the subscriptions were received, it was resolved that the £SO be transferred from fixed deposit to the general account. A motion of sympathy with Mr Win. Thornton (a member of committee and ex-president) in the loss sustained by the death of Ins mother, was carried in silence. The terms of the resolution to be conveyed to Mi Thornton.

Mi Russell asked whether any claim hud beeu made iu connection with two persons being knocked down by horses ou the show ground. Although stating they were not injured, it would be advisable to notify the insurance oompauy, on the possibility .of a claim being made for injuries. Alter _the meeting had been declared dosed, conversational discussion ensued relative to improvements w.hieh might be effected at future shows. Uomplaintß were made regard iug late entries, and the President suggested that, in future, entries should be dosed about a week previous to the show, and catalogues issued. Some entries would be shut out the first season, but if this course was adhered to, exhibitors would thereafter forward their entries in time.
