AUCKLAND DRAPERS
LIFE MEMBERSHIP AWARDED The opinion that rationing would be beneficial to the trade, and would materially assist with the conservation of stocks, was expressed at the annual meeting of the Auckland Provincial Drapers and Allied Retailers' Association last evening, when reference was made to the co-operation extended by the trade in price control. It was reported that the number of members in the association had increased from 72 to 426 in twelve months. The retiring president, Mr. F. A. Smith, was re-elected, and Mr. J. Stenberg was elected vice-presi-dent.
The service rendered to the trade over many years by Mr. J. R. Rendell was referred to by Mr. B. L. Blodhorn, president of the New Zealand Federation of Drapers and Allied Retailers, when presenting Mr. Rendell with the certificate of lifo membership of the New Zealand Federation. Mr. Rendell has taken an important part in the formation of the Dominion organisation.
