OBITUARY

RT. REV. T. H. SPROTT

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day The death has occurred in Wellington of the Right Reverend Thomas Henry Sprott, 0.8. E., D.D. Bishop Sprott was born in 1856, and at the age of 24, married Miss Edith Campbell, daughter of Dr. T. T. Campbell. Educated at Trinity College, Dublin, Mr. Sprott obtained his M.A. degree in 1882. He was ordained in York Minster in 1879 and was curate at Holy Trinit"' Kmgston-in-Hull, and St. John's Waterloo Road, London. His first appointment in New Zealand was as vicar of St. Barnabas', Mount Eden, in 1886. Later, he was Sf. °/ St - Paul's Pro-Cathedral, Wellington He was consecrated Bishop of Wellington in 1911 and resigned in July, 1935. Mr. Sprott a , s the author of "Modern Study of Old Testament and Inspiration" ? m .ce his retirement he has resided in Wellington.
