AUCKLANDER MISSING
Lu-CPL. BRUCE FARNSWORTH
Advice has been received that Lance-Corporal Bruce Farnsworth, 2nd N.Z.E.F. (Engineers), is missing. He is the youngest son of the late Mr. R. Farnsworth and Mrs. Farnsworth, of Northcote. With several pthers, he figured in an adventurous incident during the Crete fighting. Taken prisoner, he later escaped and walked 35 miles to the coast where he took a boat and arrived safely back. J
Lance-Corporal Farnsworth, who is 22 was educated at Northcote bchool and was a member of the 4th grade Rugby team. He was farming near Papakura when war broke out and he went away with the First Echelon. He had fought in Greece Crete and Libya. His eldest brother' Gunner John Farnsworth, is in the air force, and his second brother Private Verdun Farnsworth. sailed with him in the First Echelon.
