NATIONAL SAVINGS
STEADY IMPROVEMENT SHOWN
"For the last five weeks there has been a steady weekly improvement in the receipts for national savings in the Auckland metropolitan area, the amount received this week being £12,555 whereas five weeks ago the total was £8741," said Mr. F. E. Sutherland, the honorary secretary of the national savings movement of the Auckland metropolitan committee, to-day. "The latest returns for New Zealand reveal cash receipts for the month of May to be £234.370. The total number of accounts is now in excess of 300,000 and national savings groups operating in business houses, factories and stores throughout the Dominion number <505.
