RECREATION HUTS
GIRL GUIDES' EFFORT The Girl Guides of New Zealand have been asked to build and equip four army recreation huts, two in the North Island and two in the South, to be under the care of the Church Army, the Y.M.C.A., and the Catholic Association. In aid of the huts, the Guides all over the country, are raising money by various methods. This afternoon the Auckland Provincial Executive Committee held a' large bridge party at George Court's tearooms. Captain Banyard, of the Church Army, attended and gave a short address about the hut scheme.
Mrs. Alan Donald, provincial president, convened the gathering, and the speaker was introduced by Mrs. J. A. Watson, Auckland Provincial Commissioner, who gave a short de* scription of the fine patriotic work the Guides had done since the beginning of the war.
