NURSERY SOCIETY
OVERCOMING PROBLEMS
Questions of finance, furnishing and alterations to the home were discussed at a meeting of the Auckland Residential Nursery Society yesterday. The Mayoress, Mrs. J. A. C. Allum, presided.
It was stated that the nursery was making good progress, although numerous difficulties had to be overcome. A big problem was that of getting linen, which was scarce and expensive. Cutlery and crockery were also dear, yet the societv naturally wished to buy new goods. The difficulty of getting labour to do alterations necessary to the home was also causing some worry.
Many generous donations had been made from firms and from private people, however, and the societv felt greatly encouraged by these. "Taking everything into consideration," said Mrs. Allum, "the work is well on the way."
