COAL SITUATION
WHANGAREI, Sunday.
There is still insufficient coal in Whangarei to meet the domestic demand.
In response to representations by one Whangarei firm, the Minister of Mines, Mr. Webb, wrote pointing out that priority in coal output must be given to essential services. The miners were now working back on Saturdays. As much coal as possible would be forwarded for domestic requirements.
