FIGHT TO FINISH
Mr. Curtin Replies To Jap. Premier's Threat HE STARTED THE TEST MATCH Rec. 1.30 p.m. CANBERRA, this day. A curt reply was given by Mr. J. Curtin, Prime Minister, to a threat to Australia contained in a speech by General Tojo, Prime Minister of Japan, in which he (Tojo) advised Australia of the dire consequences of further resistance. It was Japan's inflexible determination never to sheath the sword until the influence of British and American Powers, with their dream of world domination, was completely uprooted, declared Tojo. Mr. Curtin said: "In Australia we play Test matches to a finish. He (Tojo) started this game."
