MILITARY ANNEXE
PATIENTS' WELFARE
N.Z. WOMAN'S WEEKLY
Life in a military annexe in New Zealand is described in an interesting article in this week's issue of the Woman's Weekly. How wounded soldiers who have been'returned from overseas spend their days in hospital and what occupations have been provided for those well enough to move about is of topical interest to readers, and the photographs accompanying the article illustrate the facilities that have been provided for the comfort and entertainment of the men.
After seeing the film about the American "Boys' Town" an Australian parish priest, Father Dunlea, was inspired to start a similar town. The story of his difficulties, disappointments and final success is told in an article in the Woman's Weekly.
Those who have often wondered how our present battle dress came into being will be interested to read an article which describes the history of our military uniform. "Hollywood Reminiscences," an article by Sheilah Graham, contains interesting titbits about the film stars. "Landladies at War" and "Royal Family on War Duties" are the titles of two other articles which the magazine features. In addition to these the issue contains all its regular features, the free pattern service and two entertaining complete stories.
