RAILWAY POST.
ASSISTANT STATIONMASTER.
AUCKLAND APPOINTMENT.
The General Manager of Railways, Mr. E. Casey, has announced the appointment of Mr. J. Jones as assistant stationmaster at Auckland in the place of the late Mr. J. O'Connor. Mr. Jones has had 35 years' service with the Railway Department. During the last war he served as intelligence officer with the Hauraki Battalion and for his services received the Military Cross. Mr. W. Mouatt, of Wellington, will take charge of the Auckland parcels office in pfece of Mr. Jones.
