THIEF'S £300 HAUL.

SMASH AND GRAB RAID. WATCHES AND RINGS STOLEN. GREYMOUTH, this day. Watches and rings valued at £250 or £300 were stolen in a smash and grab raid on the jeweller's store of Mr. John Tennent, in Mawhera Quay, early this morning. The plate-glass show window was smashed sufficiently to allow an arm to reach trays containing expensive wristlet watches and signet rings. Cheaper articles of jewellery in the window were not touched.— (Press Assn.)
