GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD.
Mr. G. H. Am'oler presided at the meeting of the Glen Eden Tcv.n Board this week 1 Orphanages Appeal.—The sum ol II 1 ' was : voted as a contribution to the uni'.e-i appeal which is being made this month on behalf of all orphan homes In the Auckland provincicl district. Town Hall Lease. — The present lessee was eranted the screening rights of the Glen Eden Town Hall for a further 12 months. The number of screening nights per week was reduced to two with a consequent revision in rent charge. Condolence. —T".-= cleric was instructed to forward a letter of roncolencc to ths relatives of the late Mr. Robert Gcllop. who was a resident of the district for many years. Alteration of Boundaries — Adjustment. — The clerk reported that neeotiationj with the representatives ct the New Lynn Borcueh Council had been concluded and submitted <f.i'. Mis of the agreement reached. The report was approved and authority given for the execution of the necessary agreement. Treasurer's Report.—The treasurer's report s*a*ed that receipts for the month of August totalled 2379 and payments £1181. The net bank overdraft at August 31 was stated at £165. It was reported that »Jie collection ol current rates to August 31, totalled 44.5 per cent of the amount levied as against 37.2 per cent for the 6'ear 1939-40. The expenditure of the works department for the five months ended August 31 was stated at £1038.
