INQUEST OPENED.

MANUNUI TRAGEDY. EVIDENCE OP IDENTIFICATION. TAUMAKUNUI, Monday. An inquest into the death of Jeremiah CSullivan, aged 52 years, who was shot dead at Manunni yesterday afternoon, was opened at the Taumarunui Police Station this afternoon by Mr. W. Thomas, district coroner, and after evidence of identification was given, was adjourned sine die. Maurice Joseph O'Sullivan, aged 16 years, gave evidence of identification, and said his father was 52 years of age, and a native of Ireland. He last saw him alive at 9 a.m. on September 22. He wae then in his usual health and had not suffered any illness that witness knew of. Up to the time of his death he resided with witness p -"»«r and family at Manunui. •
