Hospital treatment for British children, transferred to Xew Zealand, was referred to in a letter which the Auckland Hospital Board received at a meeting last evening from the DirectorGeneral of Health, Dr. M. H. Watt. He said that many people had agreed to provide homes for the children, and among the measures of assistance to be rendered to foster parents, was necessarv medical, dental and hospital care fo*r the children. The children, generally, would be entitled to the benefits under the Social Security Act, hospital boards were being approached to offer out-door treatment, and arrangements were being made for children of school age to receive free treatment »vithin the scope of the school dental clinics. Several of the membens suggested that the treatment should be free to all children. The charrman, Mr. Alan J. Moody, said it would be a generous gesture on the part of the board to look after the children. Mr. J. V. Macky urged that, everythin" should be done for the evacuees. The board unanimously decided to give free out-patient treatment to British children.
