NEW PLANS.

PHYSICAL WELFARE. NATIONAL SERVICE MEN. A major part of the organisation established under the Physical Welfare and Recreation Act is to be used for the training of men enrolled for national service. The Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, stated to-day that fresh plans, adapted to the needs of national service, were being completed by the staff of the Physical Welfare branch of the Department of Internal Affairs, the personnel of which would be increased as the work proceeded. "The co-operation of the Physical Welfare staff with the National Service Department," Mr. Parry said, "should result in splendid work being done, especially in these trying days when the good health and general fitness of the people is so essential."
