CLIPPER DEPARTS.

RETURN FLIGHT TO U.S. Pan- American Airways* American Clipper left on the first stage of its return flight to San Francisco at 7.30 this morning. She carried freight amounting to 2401b, of which about 901b came from Australia. This compares with 1501b of freight which she carried on the southward flight, of which about 1001b was carried to Australia yesterday by the Tasman Empire Airways' flying-boat Awarua. This means that it would reach Sydney only six days after leaving California. Fourteen passengers who are travelling include Mrs. R. Murphy, Mrs. Clara Adams, Miss E. Stuart, Messrs. A. van Weelden, W. Couvee, R. S. Conrow H L. Stuart, J. McVittie, F. L. Emerson and F. Kingsford. Some of these made the southward flight, and others arrived from Sydney by the Tasman flying-boat at the week-end. i
