UNUSUAL ACTION.
SEQUEL TO ACCIDENT. CLAIM *0R INDEMNITY. A :uotor car accident collision adjustment, complicated by the presence in one of the cars of a passenger who. was injured, came before Mr. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court to-day, when the driver of one car, Henry H. Sheldon, of New Lynn (Mr. V. R. Meredith), claimed under the Law Reform Act against the driver of the other car, Roland J. Reddish, Glen Eden (Mr. A. K. North), in respect to compensation paid by him to the passenger, Mrs. Beatrice D. Mortlock, who was Reddish s mother. The accident occurred on October 17 last year at the corner of Great Xbrth Road and Portage Road, and Mrs. Mortlock, who was a passenger in Reddish's car, suffered broken ribs and a broken collarbone. She claimed against Sheldon, the driver of the other car, and the case was settled by payment to her of £380. Sheldon now claimed against Reddish for indemnity of that payment, alleging that the accident wa« due to Reddish's negligence. '*""' (Proceeding.)
