A PRESENTATION.
ORGANIST RETIRES.
A complimentary social was tendered by the trustees and congregation of the Mount Eden Methodist Church to Miss E. J. Reid, who had recently resigned her position as organist of the church. Mr. J. Tyler, secretary of the church trust, presided. A letter regretting his absence through illness and making appreciative reference to Miss Reid's work as organist was read from the Rev. J. F. Jack, minister in charge. Tributes to the long record of service given by Miss Reid were paid bv the chairman and also by the Rev. F. Copeland, Mrs. T. Caley, Mr. W. Bridgman and Mr. P. Dellow. On behalf of the trustees and congregation of the church Mr. Tyler presented Mise Reid with a cheque. The guest of honour was also the recipient of a bouquet of flowers, presented by Miss Shirley Woodham. During the evening a programme of musical and elocutionary items was contributed by members of the choir.
