CLUBS AND SOCIETIES.
Society of Musicians. —At the meeting t>f the junior branch Miss Dora Judson presented a programme of pianoforte music (with annotations from Scarlatti to Chopin. Mrs. Boult and Miss Ethel Hammond presided. • • • ♦ Royal Society of St. George.— Mrs. P. Heath Preest "was chairman at the monthly meeting. Miss Irene Rutherford gave another of her series of talks on the horoscopes of notable men in the present war. Songs were contributed by Mrs. H. James and Mrs. Reg. Humphrey, with Mrs. H. McCarty at tite piano. • • . • • Senior Radiant Health.—The speaker was Mr. F. Johnston, who took as the next subject in his series of lectures, "The Second and Third Centres in Man." A demonstration of vegetable soup was given by Mrs. Frost. • * • • New Zealand Housewives.—Taking as his subject, "Food for Health," Dr. Sutcliff delivered an instructive address to members of the association at the Farmers' board room, Hobson Street. Mrs. Bartleet, president, occupied the chair.
Comrades Club. —An enjoyable evening was spent at the club's weekly social. The dance music was excellent, the extra being played by Mrs. Jeffries. Mr. Brooks was master of ceremonies. There were many prize-winners.
