LIGHTHOUSE STATION. CAPE MAKIA VAH DIEMAN. A notice to mariners, issued by the Marine Department states that the existing lighthouse station on Motu Oj»ao, off Cape Maria Van Dieman, k to, be^moyed«a*t«fctethe year; ta =€fepft Reinga, latitude 34" degrees 25.5 minutes south, longitude 172 degrees 40.5 minutes east. About the end of next month the main light and the red light showing over Columbia Beef and the radio 'beacon will to discontinued. Pending the re-e*tabliehment of the main light, a temporary white light, flashing every 30 seconds, will toe exhibited from • new position at Cap* Reinga at an elevation of 600 ft, and the light will fce visible about 20 miles from 000 degrees through east to about 264 degrees, except where obscured by land. Hie present radio beacon I* to be replaced by a new radio fog signal. On the mainland bver Columbia Reef, «t latitude 34 degrees 29 minutes south, and longitude 172 degrees 38.5 minutoe east, a new unwatched flashing light With ted sector will be established.
