FINE IMPRESSION.
MAORI BATTALION. MEMBERS IN ENGLAND. The Rt. Rev. F. A. Bennett, Bishop of Aotearoa, has received several letters from members of the Maori Battalion, who are very well and enjoying their #pell in England. Their chaplain,-Gene-ral Bishop Gerrard, refers in a letter to Bishop Bennett to the splendid impression the. Maori Battalion had made in England. Up to August 8, when the last letter ■was written, there had been no casualties of any sort among the Maoris, and there had been no sickness of any consequence eince they left New Zealand. It had been hard to become accustomed to the strict arnry rations in England after the abundance of food in New Zealand and on board ship, but the men were now ueed to it, and found that they had any amount of food to keep them fit.
