BUTTER QUALITY.
FACTORY MANAGERS. INSTRUCTIONAL CONFERENCE. Dairy factory managers from Kaitaia to Taumaranui, and from Whakatane to the West Coast, gathered at the Auekland grading storee, King's Wharf, this morning for their spring conference, the main business of which was to discuss the quality of butter and cheese with graders and instructors. Sample boxes of butter and crates of cheese were taken at random from current consignment* of butter and cheese. , These were "reviewed" and tasted by the managers for purposes of comparison. Mr. E. C. Wood, chief dairy grader, eaid that such conferences were of great educational value to those attending, as the managers were in a position to make comparisons of the quality of the produce of different factories. The spring conference had always been regarded as instructional and of a different nature from other conferences which were held around the table, where matters of general interest were discussed. The managers, who are members of the Auckland Dairy Factory Managers' Association, elected Mr. A. MeJiarry, of Matamahoe, president for the ensuing year.
