WYLIE SENT FOR TRIAL.
Six charges of obtaining; credit totalling £618 7/11 from lialf a dozen firms without informing them that he was an undischarged bankrupt, were brought against Arthur Douglas Wylie, garage proprietor, of Little Queen Street, at the Police Court this morning. Wylie was also charged with the theft of £2 11/3, the property of Car Sales and Service. Messrs. A. J. Stratford and Donaldson, J.P.'s, presided. Mr. V. N. Hubble prosecuted in the charges under the Bankruptcy Act for the Official Assignee, while DetectiveSergeant Kelly conducted the theft charge for the police. Wylie was represented by Mr. Schramm. A number of witnesses representing the firms from whom accused obtained credit gave evidence, all 6tating that Wylie failed to tell them that he was an undischarged bankrupt. A clerk from the Official Assignee's office stated that Wylie, while a motor carrier at Onehunga, was adjudged bankrupt on his own petition on June 8, 1920. On the realisation of the estate proved debts were shown at £855 19/, and the assets realised £96 12/7, a dividend of 1/3 in the £ being paid to creditors. Since 1920 accused had not obtained or applied for his discharge. During the period from 1920 until the present Wylie was an \indi6charged bankrupt. Wylie, who pleaded not guilty to all charges, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. 1 Bail, in one surety, of £200, was ' allowed.
