"ON A SPREE."
MOTOR SALESMAN'S THEFTS. AT PRESENT IN GAOL. NO FURTHER PENALTY IMPOSED. Charged with failing to account for two sums, £15 4/2 and £20, to R. H. W. Lowry, on June 17 last, thereby committing .theft, Percival Rhys Wingrove pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning. "These are old charges you are just washing up, I understand," said Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M. "Yes, sir," said Chief Detective Hammond. "Wingrove was a motor, salesman, and while on a spree some time ago sold a car for Lowry and failed to account to him for these sums. He is at present serving a prison sentence of three months, to be followed by a period of three years' probation." Wingrove was merely convicted and discharged.
