BRITAIN AND EGYPT.
Prospects Of Draft Treaty Remain Uncertain. SITUATION OBSCURE. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) LONDON", September 24. The prospects, of the. draft AngloEgyptian treaty remain uncertain. The political situation in Egypt is complicated and obscure, but it is understood that the Prime Minister, Mahmoud Pasha, is willing to resign if a coalition comprising his own party and the Wafd can be formed. There is no sign that the extreme Nationalists will agree to this. A message from Cairo says the Nationalist Leader, Malias Pasha, in an interview, said the dictatorial machine was still functioning. The Wafd's programme was that a neutral Ministry should conduct Parliamentary elections as early as possible.
