RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.
I The' track work at Riccarton this ■ morning did not provide much excitement. " Many of the horses who raced at Ashburton were let off with easy tasks. A heavy fog enveloped the course early ill the morning, making it impossible to time tho gallops, but the after breakfast work was accomplished in bright sunshine. Tho No. 0 grass track provided good going. Disorder was given a ■working gallop over sevi'ii furlongs, while Sudden Storm strode over six furlongs at a sound pace. Honeycomb moved freely, doing six furlongs in 1.10 2-5. Chicle and Meprisant, looking well after their racing at Ashburton, were restricted to half-pace work. Dutch Money did easy pacing on the ?and trade. Starshooter ran five furlongs by himself in I.;V The two-year-olds The Geisha and Spoon sprinted three furlongs in 37 l-ss, while Stately and Netley ran home from the same mark. Quarterdeck and Quick Plunge covered five furlongs together in 1.5. Home Ccming and Swoopalong did a working gallop over seven furlongs while Bladon had Brambletorn as a mate for half a mile. Juniper was given useful work over six furlongs. . Prickles and Hoylake were associated over a mile, the pair getting through their task in 1.4G 2-5. Kate Kelly! sprinted half a mile, by herself in 51 l-ss. Malmsey reeled off six furlongs nicely in 1.18 2-5. „ ~ Caterpillar occupied 38 2-5s for three furlongs, and did it well. Rapier and Count Cavour were companions in a sprinting task. They broke away "under a pull from the sixfurlonc mark,: and ran home the last five furlongs, in 1.3 3-5. It was a useful effort, with Rapier half a length in front at the finish. Aladdin just beat Ranelagh over five furlongs in 1.4 2-5. ~-,,-, Nastori and Gold Wells sprinted three furlongs in 385.. Silver Paper, Aspiring and Tray Bond were associated in a half-mile sprint m jl '}-5s They were together at the finish, but Silver Paper was doing his work comfortably. Pangolin and Waihemo set out for a .school"over hurdles. They jumpedL the first well but Waihemo rushed at the second too fast and feil-her rider, L. Evans, was unhurt. _ Solgele and Jfightdew ran six furlongs together in 1.19 2-5. Money Order reeled off five furlongs in 1 3 3-5. He went very fast for half the journey, but he was tiring at the "Vull Feather ran five furlongs, the two-year-old Ball Dress joining n for the last half-mile, which they reeled off ill The l t'?o.year.olds King Musket, Gay Arrow and Taunton finished in that .order at the end of a three-furlong SP SHeSe and Sea .Raid 1.4 for an attractive spin over five furloChickwheat and Grand Acre were associated in a strong gallop over five 'IS beat TeAwhina over six furlon "s in 1.16 2-5. This was the best lalfop of the morning, and Bulolo moved verv attractively. . „_ Pixie Gold and Twang occupied 3Ss for a three furlong sprint. Coupling was too good for "a mate a five-furlong spin, run in. 1.4 Coup ng has not been in work long, and this was practically his first fast gallop, so his prospects look bright.
