COMPLAINT ABOUT SMOKE.

NORTH- SHORE DESTRUCTOR.

A complaint that limiting the treatment of refuse to three days a week did not relieve the nuisance from smoke and smell and, failing abatement, protection would be sought from the Court, was received from the Takapuna West Area Ratepayers' Association by the management committee of the North Shore refuse destructor, at its meeting last night. The chairman (Mr. J. W. Williamson, Mayor of Takapuna), said official reports indicated that the matter had been exaggerated. He did not admit that there was a nuisance.

It was agreed that the Takapuna inspector should keep the destructor under strict surveillance and. furnish a daily report.
